Isn’t it beautiful? It’s made from the finest Merino Wool and Kid Mohair, and it’s my own design that just came to me while I was working on it.

Yes, it’s quite amazing... it’s almost as if it were glowing!

I can’t wait to see everyone’s jaw drop when I come out during the talent show wearing it! Everybody will want one. Surely some designer will take notice and sign me on for a high profile magazine or book.

Chicken soup – moms have been prescribing it for years and moms know best!

Blackberry brandy – now before you start laughing, which will start a coughing fit, I have it on good authority that there are medicinal benefits – a bartender told me and he should know!

Besides, even if it doesn’t do anything for the cold - after a few doses you won’t care!

(Not recommended for minors, if you are driving or operating heavy machinery, pregnant or want to stay un-pregnant, have a medical condition, or are knitting intarsia in the round! My lawyers, Dewey, Cheatem & Howe, require me to add these disclaimers.)

Bizzy, I’m not sure what is going on with Marshmallow.

Why?

Did you catch his teeth after the night of the full moon?

He’s been looking at me strangely and I feel compelled to wear this garlic.

Sniff - I did notice the garlic Dizzy.

I’m concerned that perhaps he’s turned into a bunnicula!

But Dizzy, sarbah77 wrote that bunniculas only suck the juice out of vegetables.

What’s that, Bizzy? Oh, just great! I wish I knew that awhile ago. I’ve been wearing this garlic all day and everyone, except Marshmallow, has been avoiding me.

Well Dizzy, probably because very pungent garlic and wool fleece make an interesting fragrance. I suggest you save the garlic for a nice pizza and jump in the shower.

It's happened to pretty much everyone. Company is coming over for dinner, you're creating a disaster zone in the kitchen desperately trying to pull everything together last minute and "oh no!" - You forgot one of the ingredients at the store, maybe you just didn't have as much as you thought, or something met an unfortunate wilted or otherwise "expired" demise in the refrigerator that you weren't aware of.

Regardless of how you ended up in this culinary crisis, improvising is always a handy skill for any cook. However, there are limitations... You really should keep substitute ingredients in the realm of food, and not say, Plymouth Mushishi!

In a last minute attempt to provide a free noodle appetizer along with today's deal, Dizzy decided to venture a little too far across the line of creative cooking. Lacking actual noodles - well, let's just say if you are even brave enough to ever eat something Dizzy made, today I suggest you skip the "delishoush noodles". They're a little too wooly for my taste...

A wise man - or possibly a fortune cookie, I can't remember - once said "He who deliberates fully before taking a step will spend his entire life on one leg".

Being a "sheep of action", I've always enjoyed the deep message in this saying as I frequently charge forward with little to no deliberation.

However it now occurs to me that being a sheep, I have four legs. And "A sheep who deliberates fully before taking a step will spend his entire life on three legs" doesn't quite have the same effect!

So now I'm going to have to stand around on three legs deliberating until I can fix this quote to apply to four legged animals... Any ideas?

My New Friend, Poppy

I recently met Poppy, a Bichon Frisé.

He is a wonderful companion dog and takes great care of his human charges.

But Poppy does have one peculiar habit that I've never witnessed before.

It's like this, I was invited to dinner at Poppy's house.

I was served a wonderful meal of spaghetti with clover pesto.

Poppy had a tasty looking mixture of dry kibble with some canned dog food. It was nicely presented in a bowl next to his water bowl.

Now being a sophisticated and well-breed sheep, you can imagine my surprise when Poppy took a couple of mouthfuls of water from his water bowl and spit it into his food bowl -- and then mixed it all up with his nose before chowing down!!

Now don't get me wrong, Poppy is a wonderful dog and brings much joy to his human charges, but have you ever heard of such behavior?

I think I should say something to Poppy, but am not sure how to breach the subject delicately. Perhaps I should write to Miss Manners?

As you can see, we eventually found Dizzy - and really only because we happened to pick Berroco Jasper for today's deal. Like I said, you'd be surprised at how many things you can hide and how well they can be hidden in the yarn storage room. The funniest part was Dizzy actually thought we'd be confused by the label and walk right on by thinking that was Jasper the Sheep!

Needless to say, the floors have been mopped and the sidewalk is clear.

Dizzy would like to point out that after spending a good few hours hiding in the Berroco Jasper, it really is quite soft and has very pretty colors!

The sheep tries to argue, but the bartender insists that he leave. Now.

While walking down the street, the sheep passes a laundromat and gets a great idea.

He runs inside and jumps in a washer - after a whirl in cold water, hot water, agitation he leaves and heads back to the bar.

However I took Spanish in high school and don't know much German. So of course I turn to the repository of all human and sheep knowledge, the Internet.

So what is the English translation of "Schafpate der Wanderschäfer"?

Babel Fish says: sheep godfather of the walking shepherds.

Google Translate: sheep patenting of migratory shepherds.

Godfather? Patenting? Migratory? I'm not sure what it all really means.

Perhaps someone with a real understanding of the German language can help out?

Frosted Clovers

It has come to my attention, as I sit here enjoying my nightly ritual of a bowl of fresh clovers and blueberries with rice milk, that there's a terrible myth floating around. Oh yes, it's quite delicious - my clovers and blueberries. I eat them every night before bed and it is a sad night indeed if I can't for some reason.

Anyway, that leads me to this silly myth. It's rumored that sheep explode if they eat too many clovers.

Ridiculous! I love clovers and eat them all the time and... I'm still here! Trust me, if there were any chance I'd meet an explosive wooly end, Fred would be leaving bales around.

Maybe some other sheep out there have sensitive stomachs or whatever, but not me. I'm special!

Hand Painting Is For Experts

I was inspired and thought I would try my hand at hand painting. Well as you can see, I got paint everywhere! And I won’t show you the yarn.

Let’s just say I will be leaving the hand painting to experts like Punta.

Maybe I should go to Bali and get some lessons from Ramona the Asian elephant - she creates beautiful paintings.

At least I tried!

Spring is a time of new energy and growth. In order to tap into this wonderful green energy I've decided I need to start meditating. I suppose it might also make me more of a calm sheep in general, but I'm not sure I'd bet on that...

After looking into meditation practices I read about "Aum" or "Om" which means to sound out loudly, as most of us have probably heard or seen at some point. Chanting or mantra is supposed to be a powerful, energizing, praising, releasing, and focusing experience. That's all fine and dandy, except everyone knows that sheep are not suited to make those particular vowel sounds very well...

So I am starting a new trend, "BaaaAAaa'ing" - and I must say, it feels wonderful! I believe it invokes the warmth of wool, the cleverness of sheep and the focus of spinning and knitting.

Go ahead and try it with me! Just take a deep breath in and...

BaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAaaaa....

Come on now, don't be shy! No one is going to question you "BaaaAAaa'ing" at your computer screen, they'll just think you've gone completely crazy for yours truly or ascended to some mysterious and spiritual level. Chunky? Who said that I'm chunky? I'm not chunky, just big boned.

Oh, today's yarn is chunky!

Chunky is OK for a yarn and very appropriate for many projects. But we rabbits need to stay trim and fit! Somethimes our lives depend on it.

A good diet including plenty of vegetables (besides carrots, as you know, I really like Brussels sprouts) and lots of exercise is important. And here at Dizzy Central hauling yarn is always a good workout!

Well, Tahki Ripple is a great yarn for someone wanting to make a light and breezy summer top, but it’s not the best thing to put in an ice cream cone.
